Alan Shalleck
Alan Shalleck was a big part of the “Curious George” show. He wrote and directed over 100 episodes of the show. Alan Shalleck was murdered by Rex Ditto and Vincent Puglisi with 83 blunt force injuries as well as over 36 stab wounds. He was stabbed in the neck, groin, and abdomen.
Alan Shalleck was a big reason why the “Curious George” show made it to television as he helped the co-creator of the show to do so. Alan Shalleck also helped write a series of books with Marget Rey.
Alan Shalleck was 76 when he was murdered. He was found dead on February 7 outside his home. His body was discovered by a maintenance man outside his mobile home.
Alan Shalleck received $500 for each story he wrote and directed. He did not receive any royalties for each of those episodes. This shows me that he truly did this because he loved it and not to get rich.
Alan Shalleck was born in Westchester County, New York. He went to Syracuse Univerity where he studied drama and got a job in the mailroom with CBS in 1950. He then proceeded to work his way up to become an associate producer for a television program called “Winky Dink and You.” He retired to Florida where he worked at a bookstore and lived a quiet life. Alan Shalleck will long be remembered for his work with the “Curious George” tv show.
